A Growing Family
I’m so excited to show off this maternity session. It was hands down the 2nd coldest maternity shoot I have ever done! It was around 34 degrees or so & with the wind blowing the wind chill was down in the 20s! Thank goodness we had shelter because there was no way anyone could’ve stayed out for an hour long or more shoot in that kind of weather! It just gets to be miserable & everything goes numb!
I LOVE working with this family & when Renee let me know they were growing with another babe I was so excited! I love their lil man! He’s super cute & always so fun to shoot! And now he’s getting a baby sister! I cannot wait to meet her…not much longer since she’s coming next week! I was bummed he didn’t get to join us on this shoot cause he had been sick but it was a good thing since it was so cold!
We had to reschedule this shoot a few times due to sickness & rainy weather! But my 2 mottos are “Third time is always a charm!” & “Good things come to those who wait!” And this shoot was no exception! Plus we were on a time crunch since baby could come at any time so I told Renee that we would shoot rain or shine! Of course what happens, we get some SNOW, freezing temps & crazy wind! Luckily Renee had scouted the PERFECT location & I was in heaven when I pulled up! Old houses are my absolute favorite thing to shoot in because the light is always good since most have big or busted out windows & they’re just so raw & gritty! I love imagining the stories the house could tell if it could talk! And this one provided the much needed shelter we had to have from the insane weather outside!
Here are my faves!
I will sit, lay, roll in anything for a shot! See that nasty stuff to the right, God only knows what that was…yeah some of that might have been attached to me! I shot this from inside a teeny tiny closet while laying on the floor…the smell was horrid but I got my shot so it was totally worth it!
The light was amazing that day! Amazing light=happy me!
Was even able to capture a tad of snow that was still on the ground!
One of my faves! Was so excited when Renee picked this one for her print! I want it for myself!
She was brave enough to want to do a few bare belly shots, but couldn’t bare the cold to do full bare belly…I don’t blame her!
Renee, thank you & Dean both again so much for braving the cold & the wind that day! You guys did awesome & I love them all! Can’t wait to meet the new lil one! So excited for y’all!
xoxo
