Dear BB,

A year ago a lil before this time I was anxiously awaiting your birth as you were my first BIRTH baby that I ever photographed! Today at that time we went to lunch to celebrate your big day! When your mom asked me if I would consider doing it cause you were going to be her last baby I said “Hell to the NO!” I wanted no part of it! Then to your mom’s amazing persuasive techniques she talked me into it over the next few weeks before your arrival…and maybe a lil bribe with a Nook gift card so I could buy books! Soon they broke your mom’s water & then she went from sweet Mary Poppins ,who was rocking her labor out to Michael Jackson’s “Wanna Be Startin’ Somethin‘”, to The Exorcist who was screaming for the music to be turned off! It was time to get your party started!

About this time last year you came too fast for your mom to get any of the meds she was screaming for at one point! You came au natural baby! Kudos to your mom for that! As you were on the way down the pipe & out the trap door I started to feel a tad woozy…I think too much adrenaline was pumping through my bloodstream! As your daddy was wiping your mom’s face he’s looking at me wanting to know if he needs to do the same for me…I told him “If I fall just catch the camera!” He was such an awesome birthing coach for your mom! I thought she almost broke his hand at one point! Then voila, about 5 pushes later! You were here & I got to see & photograph your first breath & taste of LIFE! You had that nasty coating on you but I knew somewhere under all that cheesy stuff was a beautiful baby!

You were pissed when they gave you shots but man oh man how you LOVED your first bath! And then finally your sissy got to come in & love on you as she had been dying to do!

You had an amazing BIRTHday & I wish you many more! Over the past year you’ve had a fun maternity shoot in utero, a super cute newborn shoot (your best one yet since you were asleep the entire time. ). Then you woke up & literally projectiled poop all over the wall! And you know I don’t do puke or poop well! Thank God I was not standing in the aim of that! It was fun watching your mom holding you dripping in poo, running down her arm & your daddy scrubbing it off the wall & floor as it oozed down! Good times!

You went to NYC for your 6 month shoot (cried every time you saw me with Top Gun Tom Cruise sunglasses on…one day I’ll buy you your own aviators!). I even got up at 6AM for your shoot & you hated the dirty NYC concrete, not that I blame you since your legs were black with God knows what when you were picked up! You did your Christmas shoot (with a pout & stare) & then yesterday we did Part I one of your birthday shoot…since yet again….you were being a lil diva & weren’t having it! Although you did LOVE your smash cake since it was the first time having cake or sugar!
