Aghhh! Where or how to even begin this shoot! This fabulous weather has got me reminiscing about some awesome past shoots & daydreaming about future shoots! February 1st rang in at 70 degrees & it’s looking like March 1st is going to hit 80 today! My kind of weather! I have a shoot this afternoon for a lil one’s whose first birthday is coming up! She’s a bit under the weather so I’m hoping she’s feeling okay later today since it’s beautiful outside!

I met Alisha last year to discuss about potentially shooting her wedding. She has since become a great friend & is an amazing stylist for some of my boudoir shoots (stay tuned as that side of the biz is about to be launched!) As soon as I saw her I immediately knew she was my kind of bride! She was so stylish & dressed so chic I kept thinking “damn why can’t I put an outfit together like that!” Then she started describing her wedding & I was like “I want this couple!” A few days after our meeting she emailed to let me know they would be booking with me! Yayyyyyyyyy!

Then we set a date to shoot their engagement pics! Of course the day came & it was horrible weather, super cloudy, dreary, a tad rainy…I was so disappointed. I HATE postponing shoots for anything unless extreme illness but for engagement pics most don’t want dark, dreary pics! I texted saying I didn’t think it was going to work out. Keep in mind, I had NO IDEA what she had planned for their shoot…none! I knew where we were meeting but figured they would be dressed like most of my couples…casual for a few & dressy for a few. She was disappointed but agreed to reschedule. Just as I was leaving my “real world’ job at the time & had bumped my dinner plans up with a friend…the freaking sun comes out & the rest of the day cleared! Knowing how disappointed Alisha was that we weren’t going to get to shoot that day I asked my friend if she wanted to tagalong to a shoot & I texted & said “Can y’all still come out & meet me, it’s gorgeous now!” They were there in 10 minutes!

Then they stepped out of the truck, which was packed with all kinds of props, & my mouth dropped! They were like from another time period! This was going to be right up my alley! Never have I been so excited for a shoot! She had sooooooo many awesome props! You can check them all out below! I LOVE a styled, themed shoot! Definitely a way to set yourself apart from others & make your shoot so UNIQUE!

Wait till I post their wedding!

Alisha & Alex, THANK YOU BOTH for having such awesome personalities & for stepping outside of the norm for a shoot! This was one of my faves & your wedding too! I think y’all should renew vows every year now just so I can shoot it!

xoxo
