Happy New Year everyone! It’s been quiet around here on the blog as I spent some time goal planning for 2017, working on new projects for this year that I can’t wait to share, and working on some paintings! It’s been quiet but I’ve been trying to keep my mind busy! Being stuck inside when it gets cold messes with my mind! I turn into a hermit, want to live in pjs, eat a lunch combo pizza special from Lil Caesars & a coffee from Dunkin Donuts, binge Netflix all day & don’t want to leave the house while waiting for summer to return. I think it’s because I’m so used to being outside most of the days in the spring/summer/fall that I go crazy when I’m stuck inside! So this winter I’ve got some different plans in mind!

One of them being to blogging on the weekly again. It’s a goal of mine every year and one of the hardest for me! But it’s about progress not perfection so I’m done beating myself up weekly over this. And to start I couldn’t wait to share this in home Christmas session! You might remember my FB post about being covered in a sticky mess when I was done & how one child could act like the devil one minute but melts your heart the next when he says “Amy you’re my best friend!” Well that’s this shoot! 😀

Y’all might remember me talking about Adrienne before from this shoot and how she flip flops back & forth with her ideas. Well this one was no different! LOL LOL I thought I was showing up to do a family session as we had planned & she had changed the whole entire plan on me! But as always, it was a good one!

She just wanted some Christmas pics of the kids with their dog for her cards! Easy, right? 😀 She let the kids go crazy with marshmallows & sitting on the kitchen table! Then we moved on to our next theme to where she wanted them having a pillow fight with actual feathers. In which she was 100% prepared to RIP OPEN HER COUCH PILLOWS to have feathers! LOL LOL LOL And then stuff them back in & have them sewn back up! I never have a dull moment with Adrienne! Luckily she had bought a few very small bags of feathers at Hobby Lobby. I honestly was like “what are we supposed to do with those?” because there were so few! But holy moly when you open them up there’s actually a lot more than what appears!

In the midst of all this I was sweating like crazy! Chasing kids & a dog is no joke! If only we had a video of the behind the scenes…something I may be working on this year! ;d So she turned on a fan to blow on me while I was shooting cause I was seriously that hot! So that gave me the idea of how to do the feathers better! Use the fan! Of course she had a janky floor fan that had no front so your hands could be chopped off by the blades! Maybe more like bruised but nevertheless I had to watch out for this moving fan so I didn’t get caught in it! She threw the feathers while I screamed at the kids to jump! No, really, I was screaming because you thought they had never seen feathers before & stood there mesmerized! Then we had to stop, pick them up & do it all over again! All while Pittman wants to jump & ride on your back at the same time! I lost count after the fourth time we did this! LOL

Then you throw the dog in there with two kids all jacked up on sugar & the fun really starts! LOL In the end we were all a hot sticky marshmallow, candycane, canned snow mess! And it was SO MUCH FUN! It really was! And it’s something I hope the kids will remember one day looking back on these! The most rewarding part…when Adrienne told me that shooting inside their home was the best thing ever! She honestly didn’t know if she would like that and ended up loving it! Because it’s so PERSONAL to them…it’s their home! So I HIGHLY ENCOURAGE my clients to start planning more in home sessions with me! I promise you won’t regret it! 😀

Enjoy some of the funny ones! 😀

Adrienne was smart & didn’t really give them anything in their cups because she knew it would end up on the floor! But they wanted something in them…so they got water…which in turn doesn’t mix well with marshmallows! :0

He ate the gingerbread man’s head off…then laughed manically as he told you it was in his belly! LOL

Hahahahaha! These are always like half of what I shoot!

I have no clue why he did this! One minute they’re reading all sweetly….

And the next he’s crying, sitting on top of his sister trying to poke her eye out! LOL

And then all is well in the world again 2 minutes later! LOL

Such a sweet dog!

One of my faves!

Telling Santa what they want…a small puppy! I told them they were crazy! LOL

He’s crazy! Trying to eat them!

This is how he “helped!”

Hands down my absolute fave!!!!

Canned snow…the messiest thing in the world! A pretty Christmas tree…

Turned into the nightmare before Christmas tree! LOL
